Some Math Definitions

Divisible-When a number can be divided by another number, with no remainder.

Example: 24 divided by 4= 6.

Quotient- It is the result or answer to a division question.

Example: 24 divided by 8 = 3.

Factor- It is a number that can go into another number with no remainder.

Example: The factors of 24 are; 1,2,3,4,6,8,12,24.

Common Factor- A number that two or more numbers are divisible by.

Example: The common factors of 12 and 24 are 1,2,3,4,6, and 12.

Greatest Common Factor- The number with the greatest value that two or more numbers are divisible by.

Example: The greatest common factor of 12 and 24 is 12.
