How to do number of the day #25:
1 0.5
-- = ---- = 50%
2 1 -----
100

divide 2 with the fraction and the decimal ( the top and bottom.)
times 100 with the decimal and the percent.
times 50 with the fraction and the percent.

Number of the day

Question 20
4567.892
Improper fraction top greater than bottom
Denominator- bottom number
Numerator- top number
8
-
4

Number of the Day: #23

You have to convert a proper fraction to a decimal. (The proper fraction will be the answer you got for number 21.)

Lets say that the proper fraction is one half.

A decimal is always over 1.  You have to convert the denominator to 1. In this case, you divide 2 by 2 to make 1. Whatever you do to the bottom you have to do to the top. 1÷2=0.5

Number of the day

Here's an example for no. 22 from number of the day

proper fraction- top less than bottom.

Number of the Day

We did 6 new Number of the Day questions. (20 - 25)
Here's number 24.
Intrustuctions: You have to make a picture to represent a fraction.

Chapter Review

I'm going to do number 10 in my math booklet at school.

Heres it is:

p.s the orange is the helpers for the answer the black is the answers

Chapter 4: Review Test

Here is the Answer to Question #5:

A) one-eighth because there are 8 ticks before one so then to make one, you have to have eight eighths.

B) 75% because six eighths is equivalent to three fourths. Three fourths is 75% in percentage.

C) 1.25 because every two ticks is one quarter. 0.25 is worth two ticks. Then for ten ticks, it would be 0.25x5 that equals 1.25.

Order of Math Operations

October 31st Bedmas Question (how to do it):

1st) Check for Brackets
2nd) Check for Exponents
3rd) Check for Multiplication or Division
-there are some so multiply first because you go from left to right.
4th) Check for Addition or Subtraction
-there is, so you should answer it.
5th) Box the answer so you know it's the answer

Chapter 4 Review Test

Find 25% of 84

Use a Ratio Table to help you find the answer. First put 100 under the percent side because percent is always out of 100. Beside it on the number side put 84. From there you divide by 2.

You divide by 2. 100/2=50 50/2=25. What ever you do on one said you Always do to the other side! 84/2=42 42/2=21

Remember! Whatever you do on one side, you always have to do the other side.

The answer for 25% of 84 is 21

Question: Use the number line to help answer the questions that follow.
A) What is the fraction Value of A? 1/8

B) What is a number at B
expressed as a Percent? 75%

C) What is the decimal value of C? 1.25

How I got my answers:
A) As you can see in the image above half of the whole is 1/2 (4/8)
so three less then that would be 1/8

B) B is equal to 3/4. 3/4 is equal to 75%

C) C is after the whole which automatically makes it 1. it is also a quarter after
the whole so the answer would be 1.25

Page 146 #9

What is 40% of 180?
10% of 180 is 18. (1x18=18)
40% of 180 is 72. (4x18=72)
So 40% of 180 is 72.

Use a ratio table to find the answer.

a) Find 10% of 25

The answer should have been 2.5.

b) Find 25% of 84.

The answer should have been 21.

c) Find 50% of 98.

The answer should have been 49.

d) Find 75% of 124.

The answer should have been 93.

Remember that when using a ratio table, what you do on one side you have to do to the other.

Order of Operations

How to do the BEDMAS Question.

1. Check if there are any BRACKETS. There are no brackets.
2. Check for any EXPONENTS. There are no exponents.
3. Check for Division/Multiplication. There is Multiplication and Division. Multiplication comes first because it is the question on the left. This is the order we go in (Left to Right).
4. Is there any Addition/Subtraction? Yes. There is Addition. Add the numbers you've made with the division and multiplication questions and come up with the answer of 18.

Here is a video that explains how to do it:

order of operations

B- Brackets
E- Exponents
D- Division
M- Multiplication
A- Additions
S- Subtractions
The divisions, multiplications, additions and subtractions goes from left to right

Order of Operations

B- Brackets
Always do brackets first,

E- Exponents
If their don't have brackets then look for exponents,

D- Divide
Now find and do division,

M- Multipy
now if there are no division find and do multiplication,

A- Addition
next you have to look for addition, (do left then right eg. 4+5-3x2 if the first question is addition or subtraction.)

S- Subtraction
and finally do subtraction if there is any.

Order Of Operations

4x3+12÷2=18
4x3+12÷2
Any Brackets? Nope, any Exponets? Nope, Any Division or Multiplication? Yes.
4x3 = 12, The Order goes from left to right. so Multiplication comes first in this question.
12+12÷2
Any Brackets? Nope, any Exponets? Nope, Any Division or Multiplication? Yes.
12÷2=6 Division comes next in this question.
12+6
Any Brackets? Nope, any Exponets? Nope, Any Division or Multiplication? Nope, and Addition or Subtraction? Yes.
12+8=18 Addition comes last in this question.
Answer is 18.
