Adding with Unlike Denominators


1) Find the common denominator

LCM(lowest common Multiple) of 1/4 and 1/6 is 12
-Multiple: the product of any given number and natural number like 1,2,3
Multiples is just skip counting

eg: some multiples of 3 are 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18
Some multuples of 5 are 6, 12, 18 24
So the LCM(lowest common multiple) of 4 and 6 is 12
