Common Denominator

Common Denominator- a common multiple of the denominators of a set of fractions.

eg. a common denominator for 1/4 and 1/6 is 12 because a common multiple of 4 and 6 is 12.

To make a common denominator we have to find the LCM- Lowest Common Multiples.

eg. 4 and 6
the LCM is 12
4- 4, 8, 12,
6-6, 12

Once we find a common denominator we make eqiuvalent fraction.

Hope you learn something about this.
