A Question we got in Math class and its Answer

Question. A group of students are talking, 2 friends leave the group. Write an expression for the number of students in the group after the 2 leave?

Answer. S- 2


How I got it. well since I don't know how many students are in the group its unknown so I put S for students the - 2
